Through Fires Forged

A message sent, a village destroyed. Souls in search of salvation. Their champion: a lone warrior of great might. A man who must cross deserts of fire and seas of ice to fight in their name... THROUGH FIRES FORGED is the debut album of Jacob Calta, a spellbinding blend of electric atmosphere, symphonic drama, and lush romance, capturing the rich mood of dungeon synth and the heart-pounding thrills of sword-and-sorcery adventure. A love-letter to old-school fantasy, brimming with passion and engrossed in strange worlds and stranger foes... From the Composer: "This is one of the most important works of my musical career thus far. After my hospitalization, it was THROUGH FIRES FORGED which brought out in me a renewed passion for music and my arts. It allowed me to reinterpret a genre I love—old-time sword-and-sorcery—into a unique blend of my orchestral sensibilities and my commitment to 20th century electronic production. It'd be old hat to salute the masters who inspired me—Herrmann, Goldsmith, Rózsa, Vangelis—but this record would not exist without them. Nor would it exist without the exciting visions of Robert E. Howard and his many disciples. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed writing it." — Jake Calta
