Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information TAMA collects and why, in line with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), Canada’s PIPEDA and, for visitors in the EU, the GDPR.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google: your email address and a unique account identifier. Google also sends your name and profile photo; TAMA does not keep them in your account and never shows them. You choose a public handle and display name yourself.

What you do on TAMA: recommendations, reviews, wiki edits, lists, submissions, reports, and the date of each. Moderation decisions about your account.

Technical data: authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser) kept by our hosting providers for security for a limited time.

Why

To run your account and show your contributions; to prevent abuse (rate limits, CAPTCHA, moderation); to keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising trackers.

What is public

Your handle, display name, optional bio, reviews, recommendations and wiki edits are public. Your email address is never public; only administrators can see it, for moderation and support.

Third parties

Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting) process data on our behalf; their servers may be outside Québec (e.g. in the United States). We assessed these transfers and require appropriate safeguards. Music players from Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud or Apple Music load only when you click to play; those services then apply their own privacy policies.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), your profile, reviews, recommendations and votes are deleted immediately; catalogue entries you submitted remain without your name. Moderation logs are kept up to 2 years for security.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your information, withdraw consent, and ask about how it is used, from your Settings or by writing to the person in charge. You may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Cookies

TAMA only uses cookies that are strictly necessary (sign-in session, theme and language preferences). No analytics or advertising cookies.
